Neytiri's Blade — Full Design

The sheet breaks down the blade's materials and colours, includes convention-safe prop specifications, real measurements for anyone looking to build a replica, and reference sourcing pulled directly from the film.
A bit of the research behind it:
This is Neytiri's newly designed knife in Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) — a departure from the darker, simpler blade she carried in the first two films. It's translucent and glass-like, with layered green, turquoise, and nearly clear sections, and an uneven organic profile that reads as grown or cast rather than knapped from stone. The hilt is wrapped in multiple cords, and the fitted sheath uses Na'vi-style weaving and natural fibres — noticeably more intricate than anything she's carried before.

Its clearest documentation comes from Avatar: Fire and Ash: The Visual Dictionary, published alongside the film by DK, written with input from Lightstorm Entertainment. It's currently the strongest published reference available on the piece.
Narratively, it's not just set dressing. This is the knife Jake takes from Neytiri in the film's most devastating sequence — the moment he can't bring himself to use it on Spider, and the moment Neytiri, watching him fail to go through with it, finally lets go of the hatred she's carried since Neteyam's death. Multiple reviewers have singled this scene out as the emotional turning point of the film, and the blade is right at the centre of it.

It's also worth separating this from Mangkwan (Ash Clan) weaponry, which it's sometimes lumped in with online. Ash weapons are officially documented as jagged obsidian flakes or salvaged RDA metal, deliberately crafted to maximise suffering rather than for a clean kill — a design philosophy explicitly in defiance of Eywa's laws. Neytiri's blade, luminous and smoothly formed, belongs to a completely different tradition.
One caveat: I couldn't confirm an official source naming the blade's exact in-universe material. "Resin blade" and "green obsidian" are both terms used by fans and replica-makers, not confirmed canon terminology — so I've kept that part speculative rather than presenting it as fact.
